"I Can Do It"

This is a scene Brad happened upon one evening. Since Sadie is suppose to get help with her toothpaste, she quickly reassured him "I can do it Daddy."

Obviously, she has everything under control.

"Help, Our Neighbor is Doing Something!"

Last evening I was brushing Sadie's teeth when I hear Noelle yell from the living room "Mom, come look. Our neighbor is doing something!" Still brushing Sadie's teeth I yell back "Is it something good or something bad?" (I didn't want to interrupt by task unless my neighbor was causing some serious trouble). Noelle's comment back was "I don't know, I think it's bad. She has some sort of thing like Papa Bear uses." At that I had to come see what she was talking about.

Our neighbor lady was cutting her grass with an old-fashion lawn mower...the kind with the cylinder on the front with 2 blades that roll around...the kind that doesn't do a very good job of cutting grass. I had to laugh and assure Noelle that everything was okay, our neighbor just chooses to use a Papa Bear style lawnmower (from the Bernstein Bears).

Sisters

Smiling Sisters...and of course they love each other this much all of the time.
This is what you get when you ask Sadie to smile and rest her cheek on her hand:

Fun with Noelle

One evening, shortly before bed, Noelle's hair was still wet so I asked her if she wanted me to bobby pin her hair into little curls so that it would be curly when she woke up in the morning. (Molly, from the American Girls Series did this, so Noelle was familiar with the idea). Noelle was very excited and although I really didn't know what I was doing, I proceeded to tightly twist portions of her hair into rings.
We were both excited when she woke up the next morning to see what our experiment resulted in. Let's just say, she looked a little more like a poodle on a bad hair day, then my sweet little girl.
Her less-then-excited response was, "I don't think this was such a good idea." And then in a more panicked voice "How long until the curls come out?" I reassured her that the curls could come out at any time, but after a little taming her hair was really cute.

In other news, Noelle has become a little fish this summer. Here are 2 new talents she learned just yesterday: Jumping into the pool unassisted and floating on her back.
